One mailbox, read by the people who do the work

Everything arrives at a single address and a person answers it. What follows is what to put in the subject line, what to include so the first reply is worth having, and how long each kind of message takes.

Routing

01Subject lines and response times

The subject line is the whole of the routing. There is no ticketing system behind it and no automated acknowledgement.

Write to [email protected]. Those timings are commitments about a reply, not about agreement. A message that needs longer gets an interim answer saying so and a date.

Why there is no form

02A form would collect more than an email does

This is a deliberate choice and it costs us some enquiries.

Most small company forms resolve into one of two arrangements. Either the submit button leads to no mailbox at all, or it hands the visit to a third party that harvests an address, a device signature, a rough location and a trail of pages, not one of which is required to answer a question and not one of which the sender agreed to hand over.

Email carries an address and the words you decided to write, and nothing else travels with it. You can send it from a working name. You can read the headers. Above all you keep the sent copy, which is the property people notice only when they need it, since a submitted form leaves the sender holding nothing at all.

Security reports

Send them. Put "Security" in the subject line and describe what you found. We will not treat a good faith report as hostile, we will not threaten anybody who sends one, and we will not require a non-disclosure agreement before we will read it. We do not run a paid bug bounty and we will not imply one exists.

Unsolicited attachments

If you need to send us a file, say so first and we will tell you where to put it. Do not send anything containing another person's personal information. If it arrives anyway it is handled as unsolicited information under the privacy policy and destroyed.

Formal notices

03Service of documents, and the company on the register

For anything with legal effect, the register is the authority rather than this page.

No street address appears anywhere on this site. What section 153 of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) asks for on a public document is the company name and its ACN, and both sit in the panel above and in the footer of every page you can reach here. A postal line would add nothing legally and would hand a fixed address to every crawler that passes.

The address that does carry effect is the registered office ASIC holds against ACN 696 486 987. It is authoritative by definition, it is updated when the company updates it, and looking it up costs nothing.

Privacy matters

All of them reach the same address. The rights themselves, the timings and the escalation route to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner are set out in the privacy policy. You are not required to complain to us first, although it is usually faster.
